Successful sales start with creating accurate listings that show the items exactly as they are in person.
Creating Great Listings
Item Pictures:
- Remember, the goal is to take pictures that make the item look as it truly is in person to avoid any surprises for the buyer
- Use a light, neutral background that won't distract from the item
- Take photos in bright, natural sunlight for the best clarity
- Upload multiple photos to show any special details, the overall condition, or minor defects of the item
What price to list an item?
- Several factors go into answering this question, but the easiest way to think about it is: how much would you pay for the item today?
- Beyond this, consider variables like brand, condition, and its original availability (is it sold out on the brand's website?)
- Additionally, the time of year may also be a factor – are you trying to sell a Christmas leotard in March?
- A good tool is to look up similar items listed for sale on the LeoSwap app and evaluate the prices other shops have them listed for
Packaging Your Sold Items
Congrats on your sale! Now it's time to get your leotard ready for its new home.
Preparation is Key:
- Please ensure your items are freshly laundered and free from dirt, chalk, or stains that weren't clearly mentioned in your listing
- If you wash items just before mailing, let them air dry for at least 24 hours. This prevents any musky smells from developing once they're tightly packaged
Our Recommended Packaging:
While you can use what you have, here's our best advice for secure and tidy packaging:
- Fold each item neatly and wrap it in tissue paper
- Place the wrapped item inside a plastic bag. This is a crucial step! It protects the leotard from dirt or moisture if the outer package gets torn during transit
- Insert into a poly or bubble mailer. (No mailers on hand? Reuse sturdy shipping bags, like those from Amazon, or grab some inexpensive ones online.)
- Add a personal touch! A friendly thank you note or some fun stickers can make the unboxing extra special
