Frequently Asked Questions

LeoSwap is an online marketplace where parents can buy and sell their daughter’s gymnastics wear. It’s similar to other marketplace sites like Poshmark and Mercari, but specifically for gymnastics wear. You can find popular leotard brands and styles at a fraction of retail price, allowing your gymnast to feel like a star in the gym without spending a fortune.

There are so many reasons to buy from LeoSwap, but here’s our top 4:

  1. Safety – LeoSwap uses a secure payment process for every transaction, either through Google Pay or Stripe credit card processing. Never risk sending strangers money through Venmo or PayPal again!
  2. Niche Market – Tired of digging though generic marketplaces that sell everything under the sun? We’ve solved that. Gymnastics wear are the only items you’ll find here.
  3. Search – LeoSwap’s gymnastics-specific filters make searching for the perfect leo extremely easy! You can search by style, size, brand, or enter your own search terms.
  4. Customer Support – LeoSwap offers excellent customer support, with a team of moderators who help keep the marketplace safe and reliable. They’re always there to answer any questions you may have.

Anyone who has gymnastics wear they no longer need! Whether your daughter has too many leos, had a growth spurt, or has retired from the sport, selling on LeoSwap is a great way to do it.

Take a look at the “Sell” tab to find out how to become a seller!

LeoSwap currently offers the following types of gymnastics wear: leotards, unitards, tops, bottoms, and crop sets.

Since this primarily a gymnastics marketplace, only list items for sale that your daughter would wear in the gym – please no dance leotards or dresses. If you’d like to see a new item type offered, send us an email at hello@leoswap.com, we’d love to hear your ideas!

Email is currently the only way to reach us, at hello@leoswap.com, which allows us to send/receive screenshots and other useful documentation to aid in assisting you.

When reaching out, please be sure to include the email address linked to your LeoSwap account, order number (if applicable), and any other details that will help us better understand the situation.

LeoSwap has a 12% selling fee and 3% transaction fee on all purchases once an item sells.

This covers all payment processing fees imposed by third-party platforms, data storage and security, and allows us to keep improving LeoSwap to make it an even better community marketplace.

If you haven’t noticed by now, there are huge differences between sizes from brand to brand..

For example, Ozone and Snowflake Designs run small, while Destira and Sylvia P’s sizing fits more closely to everyday clothes size.

Regardless, we ALWAYS suggest checking the brand’s size chart before purchasing an unfamiliar brand. Here’s some links to size charts of the top brands:

We know leos can often get some tough love in the gym, so we’re here to layout the details of item conditions to help you know exactly what you’re buying –

NewNew from the original manufacturer, with any original tags still attached (but please note that some companies don’t tag items). New items may have been tried on once, but have not been worn beyond that.
Excellent Used Condition (EUC)Items in EUC may have been worn in the gym, but still look brand new. They don’t show any signs of use, and are free of wash wear, pilling, staining, and holes.
Very Good Used Condition (VGUC)Items in VGUC have been worn in the gym, and may show signs of light wash-wear or a small amount of pilling.
Good Used Condition (GUC)Items in GUC have spent time in the gym, and likely show some signs of use, such as moderate wash wear, moderate pilling, minor stains, and some missing spangles/crystals.
Fair Items in fair condition have been heavily worn and may have some major defects, such as heavy wash-wear, heavy pilling, staining, missing spangles/crystals, small holes, or broken neck clasps. These items must still be usable, and the defects disclosed by the seller.

We ask all sellers to disclose details of the item’s condition in the description of all item listings; however as a buyer, it’s also important to look closely at all pictures and message the seller with any questions prior to purchasing. Please understand that ‘item condition’ is subjective to different opinions, but typically, sellers will do their best to be upfront and honest about an item’s condition.

We know gymnasts all have a favorite brand of leotards to wear, so we’ve tried to make searching for them as easy as possible!

On the website: There are two ways to filter for a specific brand –

  1. At the bottom of the filters window is a list of “Top Brands”, simply select the one you’re looking for. Listed top brands include: Destira, GK, K-Bee, Ozone, Plum, Quatro, Snowflake Designs, and Sylvia P.
  2. If your brand isn’t listed in the “top brands” list, you can always type it’s name into the search bar.

On the apps: There are two ways to filter for a specific brand –

  1. At the bottom of the filters window is a very long list of possible brands, simply select the one you’re looking for. The filters in this window will persist each time you open the app.
  2. Another way is to simply type the brand name into search bar at the top of the home page.

Don’t see a brand you’re looking for? Send us an email at hello@leoswap.com and we’ll add it to the list!

We know how disappointing it can be when an item isn’t exactly as you expected. We’ll gladly help you navigate this process, and we try to keep our policies simple and fair.

If you don’t like the style or fit –

All sales are considered final and non-returnable, unless the item is not in the condition the seller stated. If this is the case, and the leo is just not your jam, we suggest listing it in your store to resell – we know someone else will love it!

If the item isn’t what you ordered, either not the listed size or has significant damage you didn’t anticipate –

Start by contacting the seller, most sellers will work hard to correct any oversights if you let them know what’s wrong. If you’re still unhappy, please send an email to hello@leoswap.com asking to open a refund claim. Don’t forget to include the email address associated with your LeoSwap account, order number, a detailed description of the problem, and attach any relevant pictures of the item. We’ll carefully review if the item was sold in the condition the seller stated, or if the buyer is entitled to a refund because the item wasn’t as described.

Keep in mind you need to file a refund claim within 3 days of delivery, prior to washing or wearing. If the item has been altered in any way, or the 3 day deadline has passed, the sale will be considered final.

The buyer pays an assumed shipping rate of 6oz per item, to their zip code from the seller’s zip code, at checkout. In the rare case that the package is heavier than our estimation, the remaining shipping balance will be paid for by the seller. All shipping labels and rates are provided by Sendle.

After placing an order, it cannot be canceled by the buyer. If the item has not shipped, you can message the seller and ask them to cancel your order, but they are not required to.

As a buyer, you are entitled to a full refund if the order is never shipped or is lost in transit.

If the order has not been shipped –

Reach out to the seller to confirm that they intend to sell the item. If the tracking has not been updated after 7 days from the date of purchase, you can cancel your order for a full refund by using the “Cancel Order” button on the bottom of the order page.

Lost in transit –

If the item has been shipped, but the tracking number shows it did not arrive at its destination, please send an email to help@leoswap.com so we can manually issue a full refund.

Delivered but not received –

If the tracking number shows the package was delivered, but you have not received the item, you will need to reach out to your local post office so they can investigate this further – we can not authorize a refund in this situation.

  1. Make sure your item is clean – if your item has been worn, it must be washed (yes, we love chalk as much as you do, but please please please make sure to wash the gym off)
  2. Neatly package your items. We suggest protecting your items by using a plastic bag to secure them inside of the package. Tissue paper can also add a nice touch and an extra layer of protection.
  3. Print and adhere the provided shipping label to your package. Side note, you can buy sticky shipping label paper to save time (and tape!).
  4. Drop off your package at any USPS location, or schedule a free pickup from your house here: https://tools.usps.com/schedule-pickup-steps.htm
  5. When the buyer receives your package, they have 3 days to review and accept it. After they approve it, we’ll deposit your earnings into your PayPal account.

Different brands use different sizes, which can be confusing.

If your item has a size tag –

  1. If the tag has a standard size on it (S, M, L, etc), use this as the listed size
  2. If the tag has a single number on it – LeoSwap shows a number range in parentheses next to the standard size; find the standard size corresponding to this rang and use that
  3. If the tag has a number range (i.e 4-6), use the larger number and follow the above instructions

If the size tag has been removed –

**Please note in the description that the size tag has been removed, and select the corresponding option when creating the listing**

Take unstretched measurements of the item (torso, pit-to-pit, and hip width). Use these measurements and the brand’s size charts to best estimate the item’s size.

Item condition is one of the most important details when listing an item for sale. Here’s how we define each condition –

As a seller, it’s extremely important to to choose the most accurate condition for your item, and describe any flaws in the description. For example, “I’m listing this item as VGUC because there’s some minor wash wear and a small patch of pilling on the right hip.” Be as descriptive and honest as possible, and if you have any doubts about what condition to list an item, always use the lower one. Remember, you don’t want the buyer to have any surprises when they open your package.

Be detailed – try to answer any potential questions buyers may have, before they have to ask. Make sure your description is accurate and describes any flaws, such as pilling or wash wear.

You should also include any relevant keywords that buyers may use to search, such as “USA”, “NCAA”, “Christmas”, or any major colors.

Sizing – make sure to note if the item’s size tag was removed. If so, it’s important to give unstretched measurements (torso, pit-to-pit, and hip width). Additionally, does the item’s size run true to the measurements on the brand’s size chart? If you feel it’s either bigger or smaller, disclose it.

Several factors go into answering this question, but the easiest way to think about it is – how much would you pay for the item today?

Beyond this, several variables go into making this decision, such as brand, condition, and its availability (is it sold out on the brand’s website?). Additionally, time of year may also be a factor – are you trying to sell a Christmas themed leo in March?

I would also suggest looking up similar items listed for sale on the LeoSwap app, and evaluating the prices other shops have them listed for.

When creating new listings, sellers are required to enter the item’s brand. This helps buyers find the items they’re looking for fast – but what if you’re item’s brand isn’t listed? When this happens, choose the “no brand” option and send us an email to hello@leoswap.com – we’ll get it added ASAP!

Now, if your item is handmade or unbranded, choose the “no brand” option. Its also helpful to add where you originally purchased the item from in the description, as well as provide measurements or a size comparison with a well-known brand.

Remember, the goal is to take pictures that make the item look as it truly is in person to avoid any surprises to the buyer.

  1. Use a light, neutral background that won’t distract from the item.
  2. Take photos in bright, natural sunlight.
  3. Upload multiple photos to show any special details or defects of the item.

The buyer pays an assumed shipping rate of 6oz per item, to their zip code from the seller’s zip code, at checkout.

Sellers are then required to enter a package weight before printing the shipping label. In the rare case that the package is heavier than our estimation, the additional shipping cost will be deducted from the seller’s earnings. All shipping labels and rates are provided by Sendle.

No. Sellers are required to use the shipping label provided by LeoSwap via Sendle. This allows us to show tracking information to buyers, and detect any problems with lost or un-sent packages.
